Rim of the World High School
Final Director's Notes
I hope you will work as hard as you can every day, no matter what you do. As the poet Kahlil Gibran wrote, and I am fond of repeating, “Work is Love made Visible”. Bring your passion and you love to all that you do. Remember that you do not HAVE to work, you GET to; you get to continue to bring your talent and skill to the world.
I hope you will take this theme, No Day But Today, to heart. There is no future, there is no past. You have right now. This moment is yours—treasure it, share it, enjoy it, and make it count.
I hope you will let your freak flags fly! You are giant weirdoes, but remember that it truly is a blessing to be able to laugh at yourselves. The world is dark and cold these days; your laughter, your goofiness, your "redonculousness", is sorely needed. I love how uncool each and every one of you is.
I hope you will take the lessons of this place with you-character, energy, focus, and honor. Listen to the Thespian motto-"Act well your part", no matter what you do. And more important, I hope you have learned as much about dedication, responsibility, friendship, love, and passion as you have taught me. Thank you for that lesson.
Finally, I hope you love fiercely, dance wildly, play hard, share your talents, keep your friendships dear, and never forget right now.
And with that I humbly close the 2008-2009 season. It has been my greatest honor and privilege to work with this company for the last eight years. No matter where I go, or how far away we are, you are forever, FOREVER, in my heart.
